Rowena + Phoun were two of the nicest people I’ve ever met – and such a beautiful couple! Phoun, what a nice guy, gently correcting me when I mispronounced his name for the first 15 minutes of our session lol. Rowena + Phoun, shooting with me in the craziest places and poses. Kissing in a back alley with puddles and a dead bird nearby? yes! Romance in the middle of the street with people walking by? Yes! Shooting in illegal locations where we had to be all ninja? Yes! You guys were so fun to work with! Can’t wait for the wedding day soon!!

Ok I super stoked to shoot this couple’s wedding! Natalli + Randy were so chill and awesome to work with! Natalli is into photography herself so it’s nice to have a fellow photography aficionado that I can play with and understands how cool things can get when we mesh well, gel and work together well! Randy is such a manly, gentleman! Not only is he manly in that he’s the owner of a construction company but also, he’s a gentleman because wow was he ever great to work with – so accommodating, so patient, and cooperative and participatory. All guys should take a leaf from Randy’s book on great-guy-man-ship. Natalli + Randy, love you two! Love you too! Can’t wait to shoot your wedding!
Cheers

Steve + Anita tied the knot in the rustic Fort Edmonton Park! The weather was simply gorgeous considering that it was winter still – although in Edmonton winter lasts for most of the year so whatever. Steve + Anita have a special tie to me. We did/do school together and it’s such a crazy awesome amazing thing to shoot the wedding of my friends! Not only was it an intimate affair, I also was asked to witness the wedding! Haha, such a cool experience signing the registry for my pal while also being there as the photographer. I think the best thing about shooting Steve + Anita’s wedding is that they couldn’t say “no” to anything I asked them to do. Just kidding. Actually their enthusiasm to do anything was totally contagious. It was like positive feedback playing off each other!
(kinda like Oxytocin – inside joke). Steve + Anita, so fun shooting you guys! Can’t believe you guys asked me to witness your ceremony too! Loved being there with you guys, for you guys, and I feel incredibly honoured and blessed to have been able to bless your day with these images.
Cheers

If I could use one word to describe the wedding of Jessica + Dustin, it would be: Beautiful. Ok, maybe it was more like Beautifuliciousness! Jessica looked simply radiantly beautiful(icious) in her white gown complete with shawl for a winter setting, and Dustin looked great as a dashing groom. The wedding ceremony was beautiful with the love of friends and family – in fact from the moment we met that morning all the way until I had the chance to capture some of their beautiful decor for their reception at the Fairmont Hotel Macdonald, everything about these two, from the way they looked to the way they loved each other, is described by the word: beautiful. Jessica + Dustin, you both are a shining example of love to those around you and the world would be so much more of an amazing place if we had as much love for others as you have for each other. Be blessed my friends.
All my love,
Kenneth

If I could use one word to describe this couple it would be: photogenichawtness. haha! I’m not even joking. I remember meeting Parm + Jag for the first time during their engagement session and while they were both dressed to the nines, I remember thinking, Woah Batman! Hot couple! Shooting their wedding was exactly the same. Outfit after outfit, location after location, event after event in their east indian wedding, was coupled with one thing: extreme hotness. These guys know how to shine for the camera! But it’s more than just the way they look but it’s how they carry themselves – giving us complete freedom to do anything we want – giving us oodles of time to shoot wherever we want – this couple gave us so much latitude to explore and build something totally unique and creative for them – and for that I thank-you Parm + Jag! We hope you enjoy this set because it comes from my heart to you with all my love.

Funky music, Hip hop dancing, Crazy asian tea ceremonies, Love, Laughter, and so much joy. Adria + Jesse’s wedding was a very different mix of so much culture and excitement. Take for example that they chose to do their ceremony in the Wedgewood room of the Fairmont Hotel Macdonald – but instead of doing it in the traditional fashion they stood in the center of the room with the Justice of the Peace walking around them while surrounded by friends and family and loved ones. Talk about awesomely different! And a great new setting to tie the knot – not to mention the great photography we captured. Then at their reception, they surprised everyone with some sweet Jabberwocky choreographed dancing, and even some Gangnam style dancing! This was a wedding for the record books and I’m so blessed to have been there to document and capture every moment! Adria + Jesse, all the best blessings in your life together, wherever your love takes you in this world.
All my love,
Kenneth

Art. Art. Art. Art. Art! That was the single biggest thing that jumped out at me when I met Lindsay + Antoine at their wedding. Their house was packed with art. Their wedding was held at the Hotel Arts. They appreciated my art so much. They gave me freedom to be as artistic and creative as my heart desired and the time to do so as well! It’s always a breath of fresh air for me as an artist when I’m given the tools necessary to achieve something totally unique in the world of wedding photography art. Those tools are simply, the freedom to explore, the time to do so, the willingness to try anything I say, and the enthusiasm to believe anything is possible. Lindsay + Antoine, thank-you for being so awesome and going all out for your art, the art in your wedding photos – and for trusting Just Married Photography to deliver. You guys are amazing and I’m so blessed to call you my friends. Here’s to your new found marriage and many blessed years of love and happiness together!
All my love,
Ken

I’m very excited to present this next wedding to you. Not just because this couple is kinda extremely hot, but rather because of their attitudes. I remember them telling me during their engagement session that they were in love with my work and that what they really wanted was something “different”. Now everyone usually says they want something different, but how different is different? And how much freedom do you give your photographer to be different? Well in the case of Ashley + Marco, we were given as much freedom as our hearts desired and I cannot thank-you enough for that guys! Not just that but you gave us the time to explore that art, something that many people take for granted. But it wasn’t just their attitude of difference seeking, it was their love for each other. Tears of joy and love, special songs from a groom in love to his dashing bride, fun quirks with laughter that ripples through the reception, the moments go on and on. If this is your first visit to our blog hit the jump for more pictures! I’m very excited to present this sensational wedding to you for your eye-candy satisfaction!

I absolutely love East Indian weddings and Alysha + Aly’s wedding was such a blast. Spending time with this couple for an entire week, documenting their lives, and sharing in their joys was beautiful. One of the best moments was witnessing the emotion when Alysha was leaving the home, and the sense of joy mingled with love and uncertainty when her grandma whispered tender words into her ear – wait there’s more – or the crazy energy when Aly’s groom’s men had some fun trashing him (and I mean literally). There was so many unique and undefinable moments captured forever in a fine art way during this wedding and I am so proud to offer up to you this set of images that shout the nature of love through fine art documentary fashion a-la-JMP.
All my love,
Kenneth

Crazy joy, crazy love, crazy fun! That’s how I would describe Lindsay + Damon’s wedding day. I had a blast shooting with them for their engagement session, and their wedding was no different! The below image gives you just a taste of the kind of people we were working with but suffice to say, it was laughs the whole day – with some tears at the end, and yes we did cry just a little during your speech Lindsay. So heart-felt and sentimental. All my love to you in your new found marriage! And to our regular blog subscribers as usual hit the jump for more!

Happy New Year 2013! As I look back and recap on the year of 2012 at Just Married Photography I’m reminded of all the many amazing things we’ve done, seen and experienced. Weddings, portraits sessions, destination weddings, Edmonton weddings, Calgary weddings, Banff and Jasper weddings, and BC weddings the list goes on and on. Getting to know each and every one of our clients has been by far the most amazing treasure from this year for us at Just Married Photography. And now was I look forward into 2013, I’m so excited to announce that we have so many amazing things coming down the pipes for you all! From a ton of new work to post up, all the way to an array of new product offerings and packages! There’s so many wonderful things in the works here at Just Married Photography. Geeta + Trevor had an elegant multi-day wedding at the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise! It was indeed true love, for an NYC bride to move all the way to Calgary for her groom!
The gals and guys started the day off first day with getting ready at the hotel. After an exciting first meet, the couple took some pictures with their bridal party around the Fairmont grounds. Later on the lake view terrace was the gorgeous western ceremony, with beautiful blue skies! That Lake Louise backdrop is killer isn’t it? We were treated to elegant decor at the Victoria Ballroom in the hotel, with lots of great speeches by the couple`s closest friends and family, and lots of dancing!
The second day was focused on the East Indian festivities! After some henna, the couple’s families engaged in the turmeric paste ceremonies, lots of great moments to capture for that! After some stunning formals of the couple around the grounds, we head to the East Indian ceremony. The night was filled with dancing, eating and laughing!
Props to the always elegant Allegra quartet, as well as Maureen Roberts, one of our fave marriage commissioners! Makeup and hair beautifully done by Rupi of Roopstyle Makeup & Hair!

Lynn + Alex’s wedding was really spectacular one, and we could not wait to showcase this, you can imagine our excitement!!
The couple got married at St. Joachim Catholic church, an astounding venue. Everyone always asks us where this place is when they see it, it’s just gorgeous! And then it was time for formals! The forecast said rain, and we were all very glad – it actually provided us with many locations we were dying to shoot in! Later the sun came out, and so we had outdoor locations as well!
The couple really wanted their guests to have fun, and surely it was a blast. From the posh decor at the Oasis Conference centre, to the lion dance introduction, to some surprise robotic dancers , finishing off with mega fireworks and fat franks during midnight lunch, this wedding was OTT awesomeness!
Props to Renee from getwed Event Planning and Melissa from Wedding Obsession for their super fab planning skills – the day was perfect! Also check out these awesome vendors that collaborated for this special day:
Akiko Floral Artistry – Florals
Pinkpolka Wedding Design – Invites and Reception Stationary

Shobhana + Aleem were such an awesome couple to work with! It was a gorgeous East Indian multiday wedding, with lots of color, laughs and happiness! The couple is definitely photogenic, we’re certain you all would agree!
Shobhana started the day off getting ready at her parents, and Aleem at his. The Hindu ceremony was held at the Empire Ballroom at the Fairmont Hotel Macdonald, with quite a few rituals. After the ceremony, we went around town for formals, our favorite part! You can definitely tell from the images that the couple adores each other and those genuine smiles are just a dream to capture
The next day, the couple got ready at the Fairmont Hotel Macdonald in different attire, and then it was off to their Muslim ceremony at the Belle Rive Jamatkhana Centre. The couple signed the papers in front of all their friends and family as witnesses. We went for some crazy formals after the ceremony, this time including the bridal party! The gorgeous reception was held at the Crowne Plaza with sumptious indian food, smiles galore, and crazy dancing! We featured an awesome same-day slideshow that the couple requested, showing the previous and current day’s events. Check out this super wedding!

There was so much awesomeness during Christina + John Paul’s wedding, we don’t know where to start! Well let’s start at the beginning with the couple getting ready at the Delta South hotel, with their respective parties. We were really inspired by this cool and artsy couple. They had their first meet at the lobby, we just loved the moment! And then! We had total willingness from the couple and their rockin’ bridal party to do whatever we asked – that included lying down beside traffic in sizzling hot weather, for a fabulous shot! We absolutely love these kinds of weddings, with everyone in sync, totally on board to do the most crazy things! After some more crazy locations, we were about to head to the ceremony when we were bombarded on Whyte Ave by a bunch of hyper high school grads heartily congratulating the couple on their wedding in their fancy grad attire
The couple got married at the beautiful St. Joachim church for their ceremony. It was time for a few more shots with just the couple, and then party time at Delta Edmonton South for their elegant reception. Check out their swanky decor! We loved documenting their speeches, first dance and of course the ever popular money dance!! All the guests were having such a good time dancing the night away, just the way a fantastic wedding should be.

You may remember Belinda + James’ Calgary engagement session a little while back here, and now it was time for their dream wedding. It was fabulous weather in Calgary, as we started the day at Angles Hair Salon for hair and makeup. Lots of great moments captured of the bride as well as the groom, who got ready with the groomsmen earlier. The couple had their ceremony at the elegant Wedding Pavillion, one of our favorite venues in Calgary! It`s just an superbly gorgeous place dedicated to weddings. We headed out to some great locations in Calgary including the Olympic Park and found some never-been-seen locations! Sooo awesome!
The couple booked their reception at the Glencoe Golf and Country Club and we ooohed and aaahed at the lavish decor! Belinda + James had a very popular candy bar, cupcake stand as well as a fabulous cake and also tasty appetizers along with an elegant plated dinner. There were lots of crazy games as well as some superb night shots on the golf course
Props to A Love Story for creating a very cool same-day-edit video for the couple that was shown during the reception!

Madina + Mohammed`s wedding was truly elegant and stylish! Madina’s theme for her wedding was vintage and had an old-era-feel, from her hair do to her lace wedding dress as well as her impeccable reception decor. After hair, makeup and putting on her gorgeous wedding dress, it was time for formals for the afternoon! Arabic weddings are beautiful and centered on the couple, we had lots of time to walk around downtown to find neat places to shoot. The wedding formals was a relaxed affair and it was inspiring to work with these two. Madina + Mohammed booked the Shaw Conference center for their intimate reception, and everything was superbly decorated in a vintage fashion. There were lots of smiles all around!
