We were so inspired by this destination wedding in Mexico, from the amazing couple Ottlie + Kirt, to their fabulous friends and family, and all the marvelous backdrops we were blessed with! The destination wedding was held at the Playacar Palace in the Riviera Maya, and weather was gorgeous the entire time! Their special day started off with Ottlie and her girls getting their hair done at the salon, followed by getting dressed and makeup at the hotel room. Kirt and the boys were getting prepped as well during the morning.
The beautiful ceremony was held at the hotel’s gazebo overlooking the ocean, with lots of heartfelt moments. The hotel included surprise fireworks too! Afterwards, it was time for the formals with the couple and their rocking bridal party! After some beach shots, lo and behold we located a trampoline and of course, we had to incorporate it! What a fabulous bunch 
The reception decor at the hotel ballroom was stunningly elegant, and everyone had such a fantastic time with tons of laughs, smiles and major dance moves. And we mean major, CRAZY, dance moves! It was a perfect day for sure!
The next day we headed out with the couple for their Trash the Dress session. Ottlie + Kirt had grown up riding horses all their lives and wanted to incorporate them into their pictures! Lots of our favorite images this year came from this session, and truly we were blessed with many amazing locations, including several shots zipping around Cancun. They finished their after-day session off at night by jumping cannon-ball-style into the pool!

We couldn’t get enough of this couple’s smiles – Adriana + Kelly are such a joy to photograph! Adriana + her gals started with hair at Ricci Hair Co. downtown and makeup was done by James Kershaw. The ceremony was held at the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, a beautiful location with stunning architecture. Onto the bridal party formals, the couple took us to a never-before-seen bridge and natural park area that recently developed! We headed to other fabulous locations all over town and captured some amazing images! Adriana is a fantastic Ukrainian dancer, part of a dance troupe who have traveled all over the world for their spectacular Ukrainian dancing, and knowing this we had to incorporate her skills into our images Their reception was held at the Edmonton Petroleum Club, and the wedding was beautifully planned by the lovely Rebecca Fisher-Swarbrooke of High Culture: Weddings & Special Events Inc. Check out that cake from the Art of Cake! The reception included a gravity-defying show of Ukrainian dancing! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone! We hope you all have had a great 2011 as much as we have! We still have several more weddings to share from the year, and here’s a spectacular one from Nada + Nader’s wedding! This Arabic wedding was full of dancing, laughter and lots of beautiful people all around. The morning was spent documenting several ceremonies between the parents’ houses with many, many friends and family in attendance and hours of dancing After some fabulous formals around town, the reception was held at the Shaw Conference Centre Hall D with over 700 guests, quite a large wedding. Nada had envisioned her wedding as a royal wedding theme, with red carpets, British Red Guards, and amazing royal decor. Nada was the loveliest Princess, and Nader her Prince Charming! The couple also planned to set up fireworks for their grand entrance, and for their cutting of the cake The night was filled with great speeches, and LOTS of crazy dancing! We’ve also added a few shots from their engagement! Isn’t this couple SO photogenic? Wow!

Hello fine blog viewers! This engagement session is coming a little late, but better late than never. As y’all know we’re in high wedding season right now so that means, not so much sleep, lots of processing, tons of shooting and a whole lotta coffee. What do you get when you bring a Math professor and a Lawyer together? Love sweet sweet love. Especially when their names are Stephanie + Alex. It was only fitting that we brought these two to academia for their engagement session. But what really stood out to us was their willingness to do anything we said. Turn up the sexy? Bam. Have some fun? Bam. Go all out? Bam.

Crazy freezing with these two. But they were such troopers. Lindsay + Damon braved the winter weather with gusting winds of up to 10 km and all for the pictures. We started off with some snowboarding. Apparently these two are avid snowboarders and despite the cold weather had just come back from a ski trip the weekend before our shoot. Then we went shop hopping downtown ending our hang out time with these two in a parkade where things got really steamy!
